I am happy and honored to accept books, ARCs and galleys for review from publishers, authors and publicists.
What I love to read: Almost anything middle grade and young adult related, including "adult" books that are likely to have crossover appeal. My absolute favorite genres are science fiction and dystopian stories, and I love stories of all genres that address issues of gender and sexual orientation, class and disability. I am also always looking for more non-fiction for a YA audience.
What I don't read: There actually aren't any genres that I can immediately dismiss, as there's usually at least one title in every genre that I enjoy in some way, but romance and paranormal romance especially are low on my interest list unless it addresses one of my favorite issues as described above.
Time required: Barring unforeseen circumstances, I am normally able to read and review a book within 1-2 weeks after receiving it. For ARCs and galleys, I will do everything I can to make sure the review is posted on or close to the publication date.
What are my reviews like? I review every single book I am able to finish, which means I write both positive and constructively critical reviews. All of my reviews include original summaries written by myself, as well as a brief overview of what did and didn't work for me in a particular book and why.
What else goes on this blog: Living in the heart of book country (New York City), I try to make it to as many YA/MG author-related events as possible and write up recaps under my book events tag within a week of the event. If you are an author who will be in NYC, or you know of one who will be, let me know and I'll do what I can to check out the event!
I'm also open to hosting guest posts from fellow bloggers as well as authors.
